Senior records another top 10 on Champions Tour

Willie Wood has won his first Champions Tour event with a playoff victory over the significantly more experienced Michael Allen at the Dick s Sporting Goods Open at the En Joie Golf Club in Endicott in New York. Wood holed a curling 30 footer at the final hole of regulation play before a par was good enough at the first extra hole to ensure victory. The 51 year old Wood, a one time winner on the PGA Tour and a former Walker Cup team member, has been gaining starts on the Champions Tour via Monday qualifying, an arduous and hit and miss task in itself. Those concerns are now over for the immediate future at least for the Oklahoma resident as he is now eligible for Champions Tour events for the next two years. Joey Sindelar, Kenny Perry, Tom Lehman and Brad Faxon tied for third just one shot out of the playoff. Australian Peter Senior recorded yet another top ten when he finished in a share of 7th position and only two shots from the playoff.
