The field is set for the 2015 Australian Men’s Senior Match Play Championship to begin on Monday at Coolangatta-Tweed Heads Golf Club in Queensland.
The leading 32 players from the Australian men’s senior ranking system have qualified for the event, and the winner will be determined following three days of gruelling matchplay competition.
There are many contenders in the field, but the favorites include No. 1 seed Barry Tippett from Victoria, who finished runner-up in the event in October last year and currently sits at second place on the rankings after a solid start to 2015.
No. 2 seed Stefan Albinski from NSW who has won this championship on three previous occasions in 2012, 2011 and 2009 will also be in the mix, along with the visiting Michael Barltrop from New Zealand who won the Royal Melbourne Senior Classic earlier this year.
The Championship is in its ninth year, and with a stellar field on a challenging golf course, it is sure to be thrilling to the end.
