Seniors set to light up Thurgoona

Senior golf’s biggest stars are set to light up Thurgoona.

The stars will be on show in Albury when the Lincoln Place NSW Senior Open gets underway at Thurgoona Golf and Country Club next week.

The entry list reads like a who’s who of Australian golf over the past couple of decades, with no less than four Australian Open Champions, Australian Masters Champions and multiple Australian PGA Champions from the 1990’s and 2000’s

Peter Senior, Peter Lonard, Craig Parry, Peter Fowler, and Mike Harwood have all snared more than their fair share of Aussie golf’s finest silverware, in their illustrious careers.

Adding some depth to the field is Victorian David McKenzie, who is returning to Australia after a solid year on the United States Champions Tour.

Last year’s Champion, New South Wales’ Grant Kenny will be out to defend his crown, and if recent form is anything to go by, he will be a hard man to beat.

Perth based Kiwi Michael Long will be making his Seniors debut and will be a player to watch. A winner of the ISPS Handa PGA Tour of Australasia this year, the reigning WA PGA Champion has the form to win.

The current top 20 on the Ladbrokes Legends Tour Order of Merit are scheduled to play, and competition for the largest purse in Australian Senior Golf will be fierce. For fans of the sport, there is no better place to get up close and personal to witness the sport’s legends in action.

Play will get underway at 7.00am next Friday and entry is free.
