Sharpe maintains edge in Alice Springs

Victorian Travis Sharpe has maintained his lead at the Australian Boys Amateur Championship after the second day of play at Alice Springs Golf Club. As the temperature increased into the late 20 s, Sharpe recorded a solid second round 1-under 71 to lead Queensland s Aaron Wilkin by three strokes. Do Eu An followed an opening round 1-over 73 with a second round 69 to climb to a share of third with Kristian Bobanovic (NSW). Bobanovic shot the round of the day with an excellent 4-under par 68 to be at 2-under par for the championship. Daniel Yu (NSW) who was second after the opening round on Wednesday, is in a tie for third with Bobanovic and An after a 2-over round of 74. Nathan Kinch (QLD) and Jordan Zunic (NSW) shot rounds of 71 and 70 respectively to sit at even par for the championship. Victorian William Hume, who opened with a 3-over par 75, fought back with a 2-under par 70 to share 8th position with four other players. Australian Number 1 (Boys Rankings) Cameron Smith (QLD) shot a second round 1-under par 71 to bounce back from his opening round 75.
