Sherratt in touch in Canada

CLICK HERE FOR FULL ROUND 1 SCORES Golf Australia National Squad member Jordan Sherratt (SA) is the highest-placed Australian after the opening round of Stroke Play qualifying at the Canadian Amateur Championship in Quebec. Sherratt started his campaign at Blainvillier Golf Club with a 2-under par round of 70 to be in a seven-way share for ninth place. His good form follows his win at the Barrett Amateur Championship earlier in the month. National Squad team mate Daniel Beckmann (VIC) is one shot behind Sherratt in a tie for 16th after his opening round 71 which included an eagle on the par 5 11th hole. Lester Peterson (NSW), who managed the Australian team at the recent Four Nations Cup, fired a 1-over par 73 to sit a tie for 40th place. AIS and National Squad member Brendan Smith (NSW) finished with a tough 76 in his opening round.
