Sherratt to enter pro ranks

AIS and Golf Australia National Squad member Jordan Sherratt has confirmed he will turn professional. The South Australian, who won the Barrett Amateur Championship in Canada and the Riversdale Cup in 2009 will begin playing on the pro-am circuit before heading for Tour qualifying schools. Sherratt said turning professional would help fulfil a life-long dream. “Turning professional is a lifetime ambition of mine and this has been made possible only through the support of Golf Australia and the Australian Institute of Sport,” Sherratt said. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the AIS and Australian squad staff for their unwavering support and help over the years. I would also like to thank Golf SA for their support over many years.” “I am understandably looking forward to turning professional but will always look back at my amateur golf career fondly,” Sherratt added. Sherratt won the 2010 Master of the Amateurs tournament and was selected for the 2010 Bonallack Trophy team to travel to India and also represented Australia in the 2009 Nomura Cup in Seoul, Korea.
