2017 has been a successful year in several key development programs.
MyGolf continues to be offered at 13 MyGolf centres across the state. In the last financial year there were 405 registrations (up from 61 the previous year). This year we have already reached 308+ registrations in the first 6 month of this cycle. We are on track for a record number of MyGolf registrations this time around. I am in discussion with a few more clubs & I am hopeful of adding more MyGolf centres in coming months.
Swing Fit has also seen a big spike in registrations in the second half of this year with more golf clubs offering the national female introductory program. Since June 1st there have been 10 golf clubs offer at least one Swing Fit program with 107+ registrations. Several of these clubs have added new female members. The highlight has been Claremont golf club which has added 30 new female members.
MyGolf Sporting Schools has seen 35 primary schools offer a school based program to young children This represents approximately 3,200 participants. This is an increase of 1000 from last year. One pleasing aspect to this is the fact that the schools were from all over the state. Hobart & surrounds, Launceston, Devonport, Burnie & even the west coast had two schools involved.
Golf Month was a very popular program again this year. Over the last 3 years we have built the number of participating clubs from 13 to 35 & this year 43. Golf Month is a wonderful opportunity for clubs to promote their facility by inviting people from the local community to come & enjoy the club. I would encourage all clubs to consider being apart of Golf Month in 2018.
I have travelled the state extensively this year & met with most golf clubs at least once. It is great to see so many golf clubs being proactive in promoting their club & keen to attract more members.
Please feel free to contact me at any time to discuss any of these participation programs.
Merry Christmas & happy new year to you all.
