In-form Australian Michael Sim won instant promotion to the US PGA Tour after taking out his third Nationwide Tour victory at the Christmas in October Classic in Kansas City. The 24-year-old, one of the hottest young prospects on the world golf scene, carded a four-under 67 on Sunday to post a 20-under total and claim a two-stroke victory over American Josh Teater (66), with Michael Clark II a further two shots back. The result, which saw Sim become the first player to top the $500,000 mark, means he will play the remainder of this year on the main tour as well as next season. Sim has dominated the Nationwide Tour in 2009 with two victories, a second place and seven top 10 results from 11 events. Fellow Australians Scott Gardiner and David McKenzie finished in a share of 13th place at 11-under.
