Singh and Manassero to play Perth

The 2016 Perth International will have an impressive depth of field with India’s Jeev Milkha Singh, Australian legend Peter Senior and Italian Matteo Manassero confirmed to play at Lake Karrinyup Country Club from 25 to 28 February.

The tournament will have a field of 156 with players representing more than 25 different countries.

Singh was the first Indian player to break into the top 100 of the Official World Golf Ranking and the first player from India to join the European Tour in 1998. He has won 20 professional tournaments, is a four-time winner on the European Tour and two-time winner of the Asian Tour Order of Merit.

In January this year Singh captained the Asian Team at the 2016 EurAsia Cup.

Illustrating that golf is a game for all ages will be Matteo Manassero, the youngest ever winner on the European Tour who at 17 years won the 2010 Castello Masters on the European Tour; and Peter Senior who recently won the Australian Masters at the age of 56.

Senior’s longevity in the game since he turned professional in 1979 has seen him win the ‘triple crown’ of Australian titles – the Masters, Australian Open and Australian PGA – both before and after turning 50. This will mark his debut appearance at the Perth International.

The West Australian challenge will be led by five time European Tour winner Brett Rumford, and dual Australian Open and PGA Champion Greg Chalmers. Rumford has not missed a Perth International tournament.
