The second round of the 2012 Sir Dallas Brooks Trophy was contested in much milder conditions today at The Metropolitan Golf Club. 16 pairs fought for a place in the quarter-finals, with the majority of matches taken right down to the wire. Tom Dreher (PGA) and Alison Mighell (Royal Melbourne) toppled leading qualifiers Simon Angliss (PGA) and Bronwen Shields (Rossdale) winning three and two. Fellow Royal Melbourne pair Jack Donaldson (PGA) and Hilary Yencken also had a strong four and two win.
It was a successful day for The Metropolitan Golf Club, with four pairs Will Morrell and Fance Morrell, Alasdair MacGillivray and Chris Faram, Adam Smith (PGA) and Jo Murray, and Craig McLean (PGA) and Sharon Kubale all posting wins on their home turf. Also well represented was Eastwood Golf Club, with Paul Elliot and Vivienne Laurito, and Chris Roberts (Lang Lang) and Nelly Stoer (Eastwood) victorious in their matches.
