Smiles All Round at the Four-Ball Final

Bright blue skies and sparkling sunshine painted a picture of perfection at The National Golf Club today for the second round of the Victorian Four-Ball Championship Final. Players could not have asked for better conditions out on the Ocean Course, which was a brilliant conclusion to the State Championship.

It was all smiles for Mansfield pair Patricia Smiles (Hcp 18) and Jenny Foster (29) taking out the Women’s Section of the Four-Ball Championship with a total score of 80 points. The pair fired a round two best of 42 points to climb to the top of the leader board. A mere shot behind were runner-up Gisborne pair Robyn Tucker (Hcp 18) and Alice Tucker (Hcp 22), whose two-round total of 79 points edged out round one leaders Myra Fisher (Hcp 23, Box Hill) and Robin Ashby (Hcp 20, Box Hill) on a count-back.

Leading Men’s pair from the morning field are Myles Tehan (Hcp 17) and Sam Rosewarne (Hcp 14), both from Peninsula, carding 45 points today for a total of 84 points. The pair will be eagerly awaiting the rest of the Men’s Field in the afternoon as they complete their final rounds.
