2008 Srixon Women&aposs Australian Amateur champion Kristie Smith has reached the quarter finals of the matchplay event at the North & South Amateur championship at Pinehurst. In the second round, Smith defeated California s Jennifer Osborn 4 & 3 while national squad team mate Stacey Keating had a victory (3 & 1) over Massachusetts Mary Chamberlain. South Australian Stephanie Na was unlucky, losing 5 & 4 to Florida s Cindy LaCrosse in the second round. Keating fell in the third round, losing after 20 holes to Blair Lamb from North Carolina. Smith s third round saw her defeat Florida s Courtney Harter 6 & 5 to take her into the quarter finals against another Florida local, Marika Lendl.
