American Brandt Snedeker carded a final-round 70 to claim a three-stroke victory at the Canadian Open in Oakville on Sunday. Snedeker sunk four birdies in windy conditions to finish at 16 under at the Glen Abbey Golf Course. It is the six-time PGA Tour winner&aposs second triumph of the year having taken out the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in February. The 32-year-old also walks away with a US$1,008,000 winner&aposs cheque for his efforts. American quartet William McGirt (68), Dustin Johnson (70), Matt Kuchar (71) and Jason Bohn (71) all finished in a tie for second at 13 under for the tournament. Roberto Castro (70), John Merrick (71) and Mark Wilson (70) were next best as they ended up four shots off the pace. Australian Aaron Baddeley (68) enjoyed a welcome return to form, registering five birdies for a ninth-place finish. Baddeley, who was joined by American&aposs Jim Furyk (70) and Patrick Reed (71) at 11 under, had failed to make the cut at his previous 10 outings since finishing in a tie for 42nd at the RBC Heritage in April. Rory Sabbatini (67), Greg Owen (73), Kyle Stanley (73) and David Lingmerth (75) were a further shot adrift at 10 under overall. Meanwhile, Stuart Appleby was the next best Australian in the field, posting a final round of 71 to finish at six under. Greg Chalmers (75) was 11 strokes off the pace, with Cameron Percy (70) a further shot behind. Alistair Presnell (78) dropped 35 spots on the final day to finish at three under, while Robert Allenby and Scott Gardiner were at one under after both players produced rounds of 72.
