Solid fourth for Kemp

Frenchwoman Cassandra Kirkland has won her maiden European Tour title at the Sanya Ladies Open on Sunday, while Australia&aposs Sarah Kemp tied for fourth place. Kirkland shot a final round two-under 70 at the Yalong Bay Golf Club in China to win at six under, her first triumph after over 100 tournaments. Countrywoman Jade Schaeffer and England&aposs Holly Aitchison shared second at four under. An elated Kirkland&aposs previous best finish was fifth at the Hero Honda Open. “This is totally unexpected. I struggled this year, thus there was no expectation and coming from behind to win is just amazing, especially when the playing conditions this week were tough,” Kirkland said. “This was not an easy win, it was tough, but I challenged myself well under blustery conditions this week,” she said, having birdied two holes on the front nine and eagled the 14th. Kemp shot an even-par 72 to finish at three under and in a share of fourth place, while fellow Australians Stacey Keating (+2), Frances Bondad (+3) and Nikki Garrett (+6) were further back.
