Somerfield and Williams win Country Foursomes

Will Somerfield & Anthony Williams The Mt Gambier pairing of Will Somerfield and Anthony Williams have taken out the Country Championship Foursomes title at Adelaide Shores. Somerfield and Williams (combined handicap +0.5) took out the championship from the Barossa Valley pairing of Richard Nairn and Aaron Southern (handicap +1) by only half a net point, after both teams had finished with a gross 73. Another Barossa Valley pairing, Zac Fuller and Tyron Turnbull finished tied third with Tim Atze (Pinola) and Ramon Thorne (Loxton) after both teams carded a gross round of 75. Earlier in the week, Willunga&aposs David Petejohns finished top qualifier for the Match Play section of the Country Championship title, following rounds of 74 and 78 (152) at Royal Adelaide and The Grange respectively. The President&aposs Cup (B Grade) title was won by Roxby Downs&apos Michael King following back to back rounds of 89 (178). King finished two shots clear of Naracoorte&aposs Bill Moorhouse (89, 91 – 180) with Gawler&aposs Andrew Dickin in third.
