South Australian Aboriginal Golf Championship

The 2018 South Australian Aboriginal Golf Championship was played in perfect conditions at the Sandy Creek Golf Club over 18 holes on Sunday 22 April. 

Male and female Aboriginal amateur golfers from around the state participated on the day, with those who were members of Clubs affiliated with Golf SA and who hold a current Golf Australia handicap eligible for the Championship.

In the Men’s Championship Rodney Ramasawmy off a handicap of 11 from Mount Compass Golf Club, took out the title with a gross score of 85, while Senior Men’s Champion and runner up two shots adrift was Robert Alldritt (handicap 7) who fired a round of 87.

Division 2 Men’s Champion (GA Handicap range 19-36) was Garth Dodd (handicap of 20) from Echunga GC with a gross score 112.

Glennis Warrior from Kapunda Golf (Handicap 19) claimed the Ladies Championship with a round of 102, seven strokes ahead of Zell Dodd (Handicap 35) from Ceduna GC. Dodd claimed the Senior title.

An 18 hole participation event was also held for the casual golfer, using the callaway scoring system, with Trevor Buzzacott claiming the win with a nett score of 74. Noah Ah Chee a member of the Aboriginal Golf Club of SA won the junior championship with a score of 121.
