Special Thanks to Course Staff

2015 NSW Amateur Championships

Following from the NSW Amateur Championships, held at Monash CC, Killara GC and Avondale GC a special thanks goes out to the Course Superintendents (Paul Gumbleton, Ryan Fury and David Warwick) and their staff.

Following an extremely hot and humid January, a wave of disease and insect attack has impacted on our State’s golf courses, in particular the greens.

The host courses were looking great a week out from the Championships, only to receive record rainfall the day prior to and during the event.  Golf NSW would like to thank the staff at these facilities for their dedication to their jobs and the countless extra hours they put in to ensure that the Championships were played on courses presented in a manner far exceeding what was expected given the lead in conditions.

It is also timely to remind club members and players in the upcoming Pennant competitions to be understanding that the greens at most clubs will not be at their best and will be running a little slower than they are accustomed to.
