Spring Valley Golf Club have claimed this year’s Bronze Teams' title over a strong field of metropolitan and country clubs from around Victoria today, whilst Keysborough member Chris Horwood claimed the Victorian Salver crown.

A beautiful Spring morning greeted a total of 57 players that took to the fairways of the Kingswood Site of the Peninsula-Kingswood Golf Club. This year marks only the second year these two long standing events have been played concurrently.

As the day progressed, scoring conditions got tougher, as the cool morning turned into a hot afternoon right around the 9 hole mark.

In the Bronze Teams’ event, eventual winners Spring Valley comprising of Marie Goddard (27 points), Denise Nachar (34 points) and Carol Dorahy (35 points), were able to create a 4-point gap between themselves and second placed Woodlands. The team from Woodlands included Maree Rudd (31 points), Kerri Young (24 points) and Debra Redford (37 points).

In the Victorian Women’s Salver, Christine Horwood finished her round strong, putting 22 points on her card on the front 9 to complement 14 on the back to take out the win. Margaret Hunt (Eastern) was very close behind, only one point separated the two players.

Golf Victoria would like to thank Peninsula-Kingswood GC for the hospitality the club provided to all players in hosting the event today.
