SRIXON International State Junior Qualifying Event

The SRIXON International State Junior Qualifying Event was held at the North Adelaide South Course over 18 holes on Wednesday 27 April.

The event open to boys and girls aged 17 years or under on the day of competition, with a Golf Australia Handicap of 27 or less for boys and 36 girls, proved once again to be a popular event with 59 junior golfers taking part.

Taking out the Boys 15-17 year event on the fourth playoff hole was State Junior Representative Ben Layton from the Glenelg Golf Club. Layton and runner up, Liam Georgiadis from The Grange Golf Club both posted 1-over rounds of 72 before Layton sunk a short par putt (in near darkness) on the 2nd hole at North Adelaide (4th playoff hole) to claim the title.

Ella Adams from The Grange Golf Club was the winner of the 15-17 years Girls event with a 3-over round of 76. Jin-Young Yun from The Grange was runner up with a 4-over round of 77.

Both players will now represent SA in the Srixon International Junior Classic National Final at the Cypress Lakes Golf Club in NSW from 3-7 Oct 2016.

14/u Girls Winner, Caitlin Peirce from The Vines of Reynella 79 and 14/u Boys Winner Andrew Fiebig (South Lakes GC) 70 will also travel to NSW as representatives to compete in the national final.
