St Therese Students Enjoy Golf at Eastlake

Students from Mascot’s St Therese Catholic Primary School have been doing a MyGolf School program for the past few weeks and were so excited to test their skills on a real golf course. JNJG Territory Manager Tanya Kirby organized for these students to get out and have some coaching and a modified ‘real’ game at the Eastlake Golf Club.

Nine students took part on the day which included putting, chipping, pitching and long game coaching with golf professionals followed by play on a five hole modified course. All of the students had a great time and loved the opportunity to test their skills on a proper golf course.

St Therese teacher, Carly Tierney, undertook the teacher training program earlier in the year and says the MyGolf program is extremely popular at the school, so much so that the children picked to participate in the Eastlake Day had to be drawn from a hat because so many wanted to take part.

St Therese Mascot will be entering a team into a Golf Gala Day at The Coast Golf Club where they will test their skills against students from other schools in the area who are also completing a MyGolf Program.

Special thanks to the Eastlake Golf Club for allowing the children to use their facility and for supplying a yummy BBQ lunch and ice cream for all of the participants.
