Stars set to light up Coolum

Former winners Greg Norman, Geoff Ogilvy and Greg Chalmers have been confirmed for December&aposs Australian PGA Championship which returns to the Palmer Coolum Resort. Last year&aposs winner Chalmers, Ogilvy (2008) and Norman (1984, 1985) will take part in this year&aposs field as the last event on the PGA Tour of Australasia and One Asia calendars returns to its traditional home from December 13-16. In its 13th consecutive year in Queensland, the 2012 Australian PGA Championship will see Chalmers attempt to win back-to-back titles. The 38-year-old won a three-way playoff with Marcus Fraser and four-time Australian PGA Champion Robert Allenby, to win last year&aposs event following his triumph at the Emirates Australian Open. “Last year was such a rush. To win two of our country&aposs biggest titles in a season was an extremely satisfying achievement,” Chalmers said. “I&aposm really looking forward to finishing the year off back there and hopefully putting on another good show.” Norman said it was always a delight to play on a world class course in his home state. “Queensland is home to some wonderful golf courses, and it&aposs always great to get back to Coolum and catch up with friends and family. It should be another great tournament,” the 57-year-old said.
