State wide Pennant wrap

ACT- Monaro
Gold Creek Country Club have jumped to the top of ACT A Grade Pennant with a perfect four-from-four record after defeating Royal Canberra 4/2 last weekend. Co-leaders Federal Golf Club were beaten by Yowani Country Club 4 1/2 matches to 1 1/2.

Royal Canberra, the 2016 Pennant winners, have a challenging task in front of themselves with only three rounds left to play if they are to defend their title.

Central Coast
Toukley has kept it’s perfect record in place in Division 1 Central Coast Pennant after a 7-nil result over Breakers last weekend. Magenta Shores sit 2 points behind them on the table with four rounds remaining before the finals.

Central West
Defending Champions Mudgee are certain semi-finalists with one round to play in their pool matches in Central West Pennant. Duntryleague will need to beat Dubbo this weekend to grab the remaining semi-final spot.

In Pool two, Parkes have already booked a place in the semi-finals. The other spot will be decided by the result of this week’s Bathurst/ Cowra match at Dubbo to determine who takes the remaining spot.

Far South Coast
In Pool One of Far South Coast Pennant, Bermagui and Catalina are equal on points with 2 1/2 wins each. Bermagui has the edge however with six game differential over Catalina.

In the other Pool, Eden and Bega have recorded three wins apiece. Eden however has the edge with a five-game lead.

Hunter
Maitland has locked up a position in the Hunter District Pennant final after a perfect three wins from 3 games and a commanding 11 to 4 win/loss record. The Vintage sits in second place two points behind, with Cessnock in third position a point further adrift. Cessnock meet Maitland at home this weekend while The Vintage travel to Branxton.

Illawarra
The Links Shell Cove lead Division One by a solitary point from Shoalhaven Heads, with three wins from four outings. The two teams have met once already with the result going to Shoalhaven at home. They will meet again in the final round in a contest that will likely decide the first team into the Grand Final.

Lower North Coast
Kew Country Club has a one point lead over four clubs, Forster-Tuncurry, Port Macquarie, Wauchope and Wingham after three rounds of the Lower North Coast Golf Association Division One Pennant.??A disappointing washout last weekend in the match between Kew and Port Macquarie will mean the clash will have to be played at a later date, and could well decide the winners of the District Pennant for 2017.

Newcastle
Waratah Golf Club have two wins from as many starts to lead Division One of Newcastle District A Grade Pennant. Hawks Nest and Pacific Dunes lead division two with 1 1/2 games apiece. Muree is also unbeaten in the division, ironically after halving their opening two matches against the group leaders.

Riverina
Kapooka Golf Club are leading the handicap round-robin from Wagga Wagga Country Club, Narrandera Golf Club, and the Rock Golf Club. There a three rounds to go before the final on April 9th.
