Sterne, Fisher extend Joburg lead

Trevor Fisher Jnr and Richard Sterne head into the final day of the Joburg Open tied for the lead at 19 under after Saturday&aposs third round. The two South Africans held a share of the lead at the half-way mark of the European Tour event and could not be separated again at the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club, with both men carding four-under third rounds of 68. The pair closed out their rounds with birdies at 18, which ensured they extended their lead to five shots over a trailing quartet, which includes two-time Joburg Open winner Charl Schwartzel. That group of four sits on 14 under, five shots off the pace, with Schwartzel managing a bogey-free round of 68 to give himself a slim chance of claiming his third title. Fellow contender Felipe Aguilar of Chile also managed to shoot a 68, with South Africans Jaco Van Zyl (67) and George Coetzee (70) rounding out the group tied for third. American Peter Uihlein sits alone in seventh place on the leaderboard after he also shot a four-under 68, which moved him to 13-under for the tournament. He is followed by a group of five players tied for eighth place on 12 under for the tournament, consisting of Garth Mulroy (65), Thomas Aiken (66), David Drysdale (68), Lorenzo Gagli (68) and Tommy Fleetwood (69).
