2012 Eisenhower Trophy Team Member and former Australian Amateur Champion, New South Welshman Matt Stieger made his professional debut at last week s WA Goldfields PGA Championship held at Kalgoorlie Golf Club. Stieger fired rounds of 79, 74, 74,74 (+13) finishing in a tie for 38th and collecting $792.00 for his efforts. Stieger was lucky to make it to the first tee with his luggage and golf clubs not arriving from Turkey till the morning of the first round. Matt will play in this week s European Tour Co-sanctioned ISPS Handa Perth International to be played at Lake Karrinyup Country Club, Perth. 2009 NSW Amateur Champion Michael Smyth fired 68 in the pre-qualifying which was good enough for him to also get in the field.
