Former Australian Amateur champion Matt Stieger recorded his third Top 10 finish in as many starts on the weekend to continue his climb up the Official World Golf Rankings. Stieger, a Golf Australia Rookie Squad member, finished in a tie for fifth at last weekend&aposs Chiangmai Golf Classic in Thailand which was won by fellow Aussie Scott Hend. It was Stieger&aposs second tie for fifth in a row following his good result at the Sail-SBI Open three weeks earlier and saw him move to number 394 on the rankings, above the likes of Stuart Appleby and Nathan Green. Prior to the Sail-SBI Open, the New South Welshman finished in a tie for 8th at the NZ PGA Championship. Stieger&aposs big breakthrough came towards the end of 2012 when he recorded his first professional win at the NSW PGA Championship. He is now in India for this week&aposs Panasonic Indian Open which begins on Thursday.
