Stolz and Shin Win 2013 Bonville Champions Trophy

A stunning Mid North Coast Day greeted juniors in the final round of 2013 Bonville Champions Trophy. With the field cut to the top half plus ties and a close race for the title the day turned into an eventful one.

At the start of the round Pymble’s Zac Stolz trailed Avondale’s Harrison Endycott by just two shots, with The Australian’s Kevin Yuan a further shot back. Zac took control of the tournament after carding an opening nine of five under par. He kept a level head and just when it looked as though Harrison had got the difference back to two shots with two holes to play Zac birdied 17 to go down the last hole four shots clear. A par on the final hole secured the victory for Zac with a four round total of eight under par, four shots ahead of Harrison.

Kevin Yuan and Grant Booth (The Australian) tied for third finishing the event at three under par.

Shelly Shin kept her composure throughout the final round carding a solid one over par round of 73 to claim the title eight shots ahead of Bankstown’s Celina Yuan. Shelly also set a new women’s course record in her opening round when she fired a three under par, 69. Elizabeth Elmassian rounded out the top three girls with a final round of 77, to finish the event 22 over par.

JNJG would like to congratulate all of the juniors who took part in the event. There were some great displays of golf but more importantly the manner in which the juniors conducted themselves throughout the event was fantastic. They certainly did JNJG proud and we were pleased to receive compliments from Bonville members on the behavior and manners shown by all of the juniors.

JNJG would like to extend a huge thank you to the Bonville Golf Resort. General Manager Brad Daymond and all of the staff really put on a fantastic event for the juniors. They thoroughly enjoyed their time here and cannot wait to return next year.

All in all it was a fantastic week with some incredible scores. Well done to Zac and Shelly on their great wins. We certainly are looking forward to returning to this beautiful location.
