Storm hits Mallorca Classic

Andrew McLardy, Gary Murphy and Richard Finch lead the way at a rain-affected Mallorca Classic while Australians Matthew Millar and Andrew Tampion are just three strokes off the pace. South African Mclardy posted four birdies on his way out on his way to be four-under 66 alongside Irishman Murphy&aposs who&aposs round consisted of three birdies on the front nine and a single birdie heading home. England&aposs Richard Finch is also at four-under but has only completed six holes after a thunderstorm struck the Pula Golf Course during the afternoon, preventing several players from completing their rounds. The rain played havoc with the rounds of several Australians including Millar and Tampion. Millar was forced back to the clubhouse on one-under having only completed seven holes while Tampion made it through three but had already picked up a birdie to be one-under as well. Peter O&aposMalley (70) and Wade Ormsby (70) managed to complete their rounds to finish the day on even par alongside Matthew Zions, who made it through nine before the storm hit. One stroke further back is Brett Rumford at one-over while Terry price had a day he would rather forget, finishing the opening round on thirteen over.
