Storm inspired scores from Andersons and Hartleys

At Barwon Heads Golf Club today, Chris & Oscar Anderson (Box Hill) and Sonia & Lorinda Hartley (Peninsula-Kingswood) were crowned the Men’s and Women’s Family Champions.  After a sudden electrical storm went through the area delaying the start of the event, all players were pleased to get on the course. Chris was delighted at having the opportunity to play with his son, Oscar – winning the Men’s Title was a complete bonus! Similarly, Sonia was just happy to enjoy a day on the course with daughter (Lorinda) so coming away with the Women’s title made the day very memorable!

The Andersons claimed the title 3 shots clear of their nearest rivals Brian & James Mackenzie, after having an outstanding score of 49 points. “I played the best golf I have ever played” said Chris who, with a handicap of 30, must’ve been simply inspired by his 2 marker son. Sonia & Lorinda played consistent golf and with their 41 points they overcame the defending champions and runners up Annie Seccull & Diana Robinson.

Barwon Heads Golf Club was as spectacular as ever. The course was presented in great condition and the hospitality second to none. Another opportunity to play this great course will be the Victorian Mazda Four-Ball Championship on Monday 2 February. So, if you have not visited the Bellarine Peninsula or played Barwon Heads GC – do not miss it!
