Jasper Stubbs (Huntingdale) and Ashleigh Hall (Cranbourne) will take overnight leads into day 2 of the Yarrawonga Junior Open. Stubbs, a member of the Victorian Junior State Squad, fired a magnificent 7 birdies on his way to a 5-under 67 on the Murray course. Stubbs will take a three shot advantage into day 2 in the boys overall gross section. Daniel Gill (Commonwealth), Harry Goakes (Royal Melbourne) and Kieran Vogels (Huntingdale) all posted 2-under rounds of 70.
Hall is the leader in the girls section after her 1-under 71 sees her two ahead going into tomorrows play. Hall will represent Victoria at the South Pacific Junior Open played in New Caledonia in August. In second place is Huntingdale’s Piper Stubbs just one shot back after her even par round of 72. Stubbs will look to continue her dominant form after taking out the Woodlands and Keysborough junior titles respectively.
The nett section also sees Jasper Stubbs out in front. Playing off a handicap of 1, Stubbs finished with a nett 66. Closely behind is Harry Adams (Wonthaggi) with a nett 67 off a handicap of 7.
