Su-Hyun Oh bows out of U.S. Womens Amateur

New Zealander Lydia Ko is the sole surviving Australasian at the US Women’s Amateur Championship after she defeated South African golfer, Paula Reto in today s Quarter Final match at the Country Club in Cleveland in Ohio. Ko fell behind early in her match when Reto birdied the second to go one up but a par at the third hole was enough to get the encounter all square once again. By the turn the 15 year old had moved two ahead and eventually won the match 3&1. 16 year old Victorian Su-Hyun did well to make it to the Quarter Finals but today she faced Canadian Nicole Zhang who had defeated the qualifying medalist, Hyo Joo Kim, in yesterday s round of 16. Oh went ahead in her match early with birdies at the first and the second and was still 1 up through 12 before the tide turned. Zhang birdied three of her last four holes to win 2&1. In tomorrow s Semi Finals Ko will face Ariya Jutanugarn of the Philippines and Zhang will play Jaye Marie Green.
