SunSmart message – Think UV not heat!

SunSmart is urging golf players to think about sun protection before hitting the greens this summer.

Even though its cloudy, the UV radiation is still strong enough to damage your skin. In January, it takes only 11 minutes in the sun to get burnt.

SunSmart Manager, Sue Heward, says, "Remember to bring sunscreen and reapply regularly throughout the day. Be especially vigilant about reapplying if you are sweating excessively. Wear a broad-brimmed hats to protect your face and sunglasses to protect your eyes."

Download the free SunSmart app and check  the times of the day when you need sun protection each day so you’ll know exactly when to slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade and slide on some sunglasses. The app also features a sunscreen calculator, reapplication reminders and alerts.
