Launceston Golf Club professional Kevin Conlong recently completed a Swing Fit program at the club.
Swing Fitis Australia’s national program to encourage and promote female participation in golf.
The program provides a social, supportive, developmental and satisfying introduction to golf for new participants, through:
· Learning basic golf skills
· Health and conditioning exercises
· Plenty of opportunities to socialise and meet new friends
· All in a welcoming and fun environment!
Swing Fit has also been offered at Seabrook and Wynyard Golf Clubs in Tasmania.
Kevin's next Swing Fit program will be held in October and anyone interested in encouraged to contact Kevin at the club. The club will also host 'come and try' days during October as part of Golf Australia's National Golf Monthaimed at re-engaging with lapsed members as well as introducing new players to the game.
Meanwhile Golf Tasmania's development officer Simon Weston has been travelling the state, and reports that he sees positive signs for golf in Tasmania.
Along with the Swing Fit activities, there are currently seven PGA professionals offering MyGolffor junior boys and girls aged between five and twelve.
Both Swing Fit and MyGolf are able to be offered by all golf clubs in the state.
