Tasmania Golf Club has won its twelfth Claremont Shield by a massive 19 strokes from host club Ulverstone.
The quartet from Tasmania finished the 2016 event with a total of 511 (+7) while their nearest rivals Ulverstone returned 530 (+26). Mowbray Golf Club placed third one stroke adrift of Ulverstone on 531 (+27).

Tasmania Golf Club’s Nathan Gatehouse won the individual section of the championship. Gatehouse carded 70 and 71 for a three-under-par total of 141. Devonport’s Peter Nielsen (+2) was runner-up and Tasmania Golf Club’s Andrew Phillips (+3) placed third.
