Tasmania Win’s Eleventh Claremont Shield

Tournament favourites Tasmania Golf Club have convincingly won this year s Claremont Shield conducted at the Kingston Beach Golf Club. The four-man team from Barilla Bay combined to win the club&aposs eleventh title with a two-under-par total of 495. The team of Stuart Bonnitcha, Richard Kube, Andrew Phillips and Mark Schulze claimed the title by nine strokes from their nearest rival Launceston on seven-over-par. Defending champions Mowbray Golf Club rounded out the top three with team member James Pyke winning the 36-hole individual title. Pyke carded rounds of 66 and 70 for a six-under-par total of 136. Over-night leaders Launceston Golf Club held their nerve and walked away from Kingston Beach with the handicap title this afternoon. The team of Cam Bell, Chris Sayer, Josh Molendyk and Mitch Van Noord combined for a net total of 494 .
