Following the recent Tamar Valley Junior Cup and Tasmanian Junior Masters Golf Tasmania is pleased to announce the Tasmanian Boys Team. This six man team will contest the Australian Boys Amateur and Interstate Teams Matches at the Heritage Golf and Country Club in Victoria. Returning to the boys team in 2014 are Prospect Vale Golf Club’s Jack Tregaskisjago and Riverside s Kade Philpott. Tasmania s Luke Gilbert, Mowbray s Joel Harwood, Riverside s Sam Manix-Geeves and Kingston Beach s Elijah Stanley are also worthy inclusions in the team for 2014. County Club Tasmania Assistant Professional, Bryce Gorham, has been named as Coach. The Australian Boys&apos Amateur Championship will be conducted at the Heritage Golf and Country Club from April 9-11 and is open to players aged under 18 years on the first day of play. It is contested over 72-holes stroke play (cut after 36-holes), with a handicap limit of approximately 4.4. The 2014 running of the event will also be conducted at the Heritage Golf and Country Club from April 13-16. The first Australian Boys Interstate Teams Matches was played in 1958 and is Australia&aposs premier Junior Amateur Team Golf Championship. Each State and Territory is represented by six players with five players contesting singles match play each round in a round robin format.
