Tatt Chasing Second Title at Rosebud

Chris Tatt will take a handy lead heading into the final round of the 2013 Victorian Men’s Senior Amateur after an impressive even par 71 second round. Tatt, a member of Buninyong Golf Club and 2009 Champion, leads by 3 shots on 143 from Spring Valley’s Gary Easte.

Unfortunately, constant rain fell throughout the morning which made the going unpleasant for the AM field. With that said, the scoring was quite good, notably, Greg Stanford (Mona Vale) who fired a two over par 73. The skies cleared just as the PM field took to the tee resulting in calm ideal golfing weather, until a late shower dampened the final groups. Overnight leader Tatt had a dream run avoiding the majority of the showers, with the umbrella making a fleeting appearance on the 18th hole.

In the nett section, Easte (Hcap 5) and Tatt (Hcap 3) are leading the pack on nett scores of 136 and 137 respectively, followed closely by Lonsdale’s Adam Charleston (Hcap 8) on 139 and Gary House (Hcap 10) of Sanctuary Lakes on 140.

Players will sit down for the Championship Dinner with guest speaker Stan Alves tonight before the third and final round tomorrow. Leaders Tatt, Easte, and Stanford will round up the field in the last group, teeing off at 12:42pm.
