Ben Tatt has made a superb start to his title defence at the 2019 Trimax Victorian Sand Greens Championship.
The Belvoir Park member claimed his first Victorian Sand Greens Championship 12 months ago at Maldon GC, and started this year’s event at Avoca GC on fire, carding a one-under-par 67 to lead by two after round one.
Joining Tatt in the lead group tomorrow will be Andrew Kane (Boort), Dylan Pool (Beechworth) and Scott Boschen (Port Fairy) who all finished with 69.
In B division, Gary Pool (Beechworth) returned the best score with 77 and holds a slender one-shot lead over Raymond Poole (Trentham).
C division sees another Beechworth member in Jamie Dolny out in front on 86, one shot clear of Mark Swift (Beaufort) and Jon Chandler (Wedderburn).
In the net divisions, Ben Tatt, Dylan Pool and Scott Boschen are tied for lead in A division, whilst Raymond Poole and Trevor Eiffert (Belvoir Park) lead B and C divisions respectively.
The men’s tournament dinner will be held at the club tonight before the field heads out tomorrow morning for the second and final round.
