Teenager upstages Parry

Australian Craig Parry has fired a final round of 71 to finish in joint eighth place behind 15-year-old Ryo Ishikawa at the Musingwear Open KSB Cup. Parry and his fellow professionals were upstaged by Ishikawa who carded a sensational round of 66 to finish the tournament at 12-under-par and claim a one stroke victory over veteran Katsumasa Miyamoto. Tomohiro Kondo finished in outright third place at 10-under-par, while a group of four players tied for fourth at nine-under-par. Ishikawa, who received a sponsors invitation to play the tournament, charged to the lead with a decisive birdie at the tough par three 17th hole, before making par at the final hole to become the first teenager to win on the Japanese Tour. Parry was left to lament many missed chances on the greens, and was never able to make a charge during the final round.
