TEN-HD kicks into gear with a feast of golf

TEN-HD officially kicks off its sporting calendar this weekend with live coverage of the 2008 HSBC New Zealand PGA Golf Championship. Live coverage of the HSBC NZ PGA Championship from Clearwater Resort in Christchurch starts Saturday at 1pm and continues at the same on Sunday. In addition TEN HD will broadcast the opening two days of the Moonah Classic at Moonah Links next week on Thursday February 21 and Friday February 22. Saturday and Sunday will be showed in Network Ten Free to air from 1-5pm. TEN-HD will also feature more than 20 hours of live and exclusive coverage of the first event of the 2008 World Golf Championships – the Accenture Match Play Championship, starting on Thursday, February 21, at 6am. The event will feature the world&aposs top 64 golfers competing for a prize pool of US $8 million. The year&aposs remaining two World Golf Championship events will air on TEN-HD later in the year. TEN&aposs general manager of sport, David White, said, “TEN promises more than 60 hours of premium sport over the next two weeks with NASCAR and golf – only on TEN-HD.” He said TEN boasted one of the most impressive sport portfolios with the AFL, Formula 1, MotoGP, NFL, NASCAR, golf, 2010 Commonwealth Games, and now cricket&aposs Indian Premier League. “This gives us more hours of sport than any other commercial free-to-air network,” said Mr White.
