On Friday 24 June 2011 the Final Day of the Golf NSW Grade Competition was played by Grade&aposs 1, 2, 3 and 4. Results for all grade&aposs are now available below. Golf NSW would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the teams for competing in the 2011 Grade Competition. FULL GRADE RESULTS Grade 1 Congratulations to The Australian Golf Club who have won the 2011 Golf NSW Women&aposs Grade 1 Competition. Heading into the final round The Australian Golf Club had already secured the title after last weeks round so had the luxury of sitting back to see who would clinch second place. In the end it was Pennant Hills who finished runner up on 8 points, four behind The Australian&aposs total. The winning team proved to be far too dominant throughout the Grade season going through undefeated which is quite a remarkable achievement when considering the other strong opposition that were also in the division. Golf NSW board member and member of the Women&aposs Match Committee Sue Fabian, was present to award The Australian their flag and medals and congratulate them on a very successful Grade season. The Australian Team players from left to right:- Dee-Jay East (Field Captain), Vicki Jellis, Liz Elmassian, Tokiko Mino, Justine Lee, Edwina Kennedy, Chris Pettit, Johanna Carrigan, Carly Beck, Tahnia Ravnjak, Chantal Hodson, (Claudis Lim and Gemma Lyon absent from photo) Grade 2 In what proved to be a very close contest between Concord, Bankstown and Avondale it was Concord the eventual winners in Grade 2 with 10 points and 31.5 games, finishing just two games ahead of Bankstown to seal victory on game differential. In third place it was Avondale Golf Club with a total of 8 points from the 7 rounds that were staged throughout the season. Women&aposs Match Committee representative Judy Haddrick was the Golf NSW representative who conducted the after match presentation at Oatlands Golf Club and it proved to be a fitting way to end such a close division by awarding the Grade 2 flag to Concord. Grade 3 Royal Sydney have successfully taken out the Grade 3 pennant flag with a comprehensive final round win over Cabramatta 5.5 matches to 1.5 at Cumberland Golf Club. The last round triumph placed Royal Sydney (10 points) only one point ahead of Killara and North Ryde who both finished on 9 points falling agonisingly short of claiming the flag if either was able to secure just one more win throughout the season. Golf NSW official Annette Baggie was in attendence and presented the flag at the after match presentation to the deserved winners who went into Round 7 as the leaders of Grade 3. Grade 4 Golf NSW Women&aposs Match Committee member Lynne Robson has crowned and presented Wakehurst Golf Club with the winning Grade 4 flag after claiming the title with 9 points and 28 games from Bayview Golf Club who finished just behind with the same number of points and 24.5 games over the 7 rounds of the compeition. With Wakehurst having a final round bye, a win for Bayview over Cromer would of seen them leap frog Wakehurst and finish 1st however the Cromer team did them no favours by closing with a 4 matches to 3 final result. In what was a very close competition in Grade 4 all competing clubs must be commended for the great consistency of golf displayed over all 7 rounds of the women&aposs match play format.
