The NSW Country Championship

The Men's NSW Country Championship and Inter-District Teams Challenge is a 36 hole stroke play tournament and NSW Vardon ranking event.

Many of the State’s most experienced players from regional NSW including representatives from the NSW Senior and Junior state teams take part, ensuring the quality of golf across the two days is always of an exceptionally high standard.

An added incentive for the individual winner is an invitation to compete in the NSW Open.

The NSW Country Championship which was first held in 1947 and boasts an honour roll that includes some of the finest golfing talent New South Wales has produced. The list of past winners includes Bruce Devlin, Nathan Green, Paul Sheehan, Scott Gardiner, Lucas Parsons, and 15 time Japanese tour winner Brendan Jones.

Jake Davies from Gungahlin Lakes Golf Club in The ACT has taken out the 2017 Country Championship with a two round total score of three-under par 137, to win by two shots from Mark Panopoulos of Nowra.

The 20 -year old who has only been playing golf for four years, was thrilled with his win and with it the guaranteed start in the 2017 NSW Open at Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club in November.

Entries for the 2018 NSW Country Championship will open in Mid 2018. Detailed tournament terms and conditions and practice times for competitors will be available shortly.
