Three players who finish in the top ten and ties at the Emirates Australian Open who are not already exempt will earn places in The 146th Open at Royal Birkdale, 16-23 July 2017.
The 2016 Emirates Australian Open is the first event in The Open Qualifying Series and will be played from 17-20 November at Royal Sydney Golf Club.

In the event of a tie for a qualifying place, the player with the higher ranking in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) at the beginning of the week commencing 14 November will be awarded a place in The 146th Open.
