The Royal Women’s Hospital wins!!!

It was Lydia Nickels and Gayle Clark from Croydon Golf Club who had the winning score in the State Fourball Final of this Golf Victoria fundraising event but it was the Women’s Hospital that reaped the benefits!

Kingston Heath Golf Club was the venue for this year’s RWH State Final. Winners and runners up from the District finals were the lucky ones to have the opportunity to represent the clubs, with a total of 38 clubs represented. This fundraising golf competition has been supporting the Women’s Hospital since 2006 and has raised over $170,000 toward educating Pelvic Floor specialists, an area often overlooked when compared to other women’s health issues. The club provided a wonderful lunch for the participants while the RWH provided a speaker to help enlighten women about this health issue. We realised, as we listened to Marie Jones explain the work undertaken at the Women’s, how valuable our support is to the hospital.
The weather improved as players teed off in the afternoon and it was the Croydon pair who made the most of the conditions and took first place with 39 points. Not far behind and runners-up, were Tanya Dalton and Bev Bourke from Port Fairy with 38 points.
We would like to thank all who took part in the 2012 RWH State Fourball, and urge everyone to encourage their friends to get behind this wonderful cause and make it bigger and better next year.
