The young Carracher claims the Victorian Sand Greens title

Day 2

Edward Carracher from Euroa has won the 2013 Victorian Men’s Sand Greens championship held at Beechworth Golf Club. Carracher fired an impressive final round 66, 2 under par. After a delayed morning due to fog, Carracher started steadily before holing out his approach shot for an eagle on the 16th to secure victory.  Edward after his even par 68 on Saturday posted a total 134 (2 under par). The Carracher name will now appear twice on the Victorian Sand Greens trophy with Edward’s dad Lance winning the title back in 1988, the year before Edward was born.

Joint overnight leader James Brown was the runner up for the championship with rounds of 68/69 for a 137 total (1 over par). In the B division, Glen Kramer (Elmore) outclassed the field with a 36 hole gross total of 154 and in C division, Dean Tuffnell (Hamilton) took the glory with a 36 hole gross total of 158.

An appreciation shall be given to all volunteers and workers at Beechworth Golf Club for the tremendous effort achieved over the past week.
