The Australian Capital Territory’s Adam Thorp leads the field following the first day’s play in the 2019 Men’s Tasmanian Open at Ulverstone Golf Club.
Thorpe, a member of the Federal Golf Club, shot a course record seven-under-par opening round of 65.
The 18-year-old leads his nearest rival, Mitch Van Noord from the Launceston Golf Club, by four strokes.
Van Noord is the leading Tasmanian and is placed second after returning a two-under-par round of 69 today.
Victoria’s Aiden Didone and Western Australia’s Hayden Hopewell are tied for third on one-under-par.

Queensland’s Caitlyn Campbell-Nyman leads the Women’s Tasmanian Open Golf Championship following the first day’s play at Ulverstone Golf Club.
The 17-year-old Pacific Golf Club member shot an opening round of two-under-par 71 to lead the field by one stroke.
A trio of competitors including Western Australia’s Kathryn Norris, Victoria’s Linley Ooi and Isabelle Taylor from Queensland are tied on one-under-par 72.
Local member, Sarah Johnstone, is the leading Tasmanian in twelfth place on seven-over.

New South Wales’ David Gleeson holds a commanding lead in Men’s Tasmanian Senior Masters at Ulverstone.
The Dubbo Golf Club member shot a four-over 76 and boasts a four stroke lead over fellow New South Welshmen David McClelland and Peter Zotti on eight-over.
Royal Hobart Golf Club’s Richard Denholm is the leading Tasmanian in fourth place on nine-over-par 81.
