Three Australians finished inside the top 15 at the AT&T Proam at Pebble Beach today, with Jason Day showing his first run of good form in the new season.

Day, Matt Jones and 22-year-old Cameron Smith all finished tied-11th behind American Vaughn Taylor, who overtook third-round leader Phil Mickelson with a blazing, final-round 65 to win by a shot.

Day, who was playing just his third tournament of the season, will be pleased with his finish after showing some rust in recent times.

The disappointment among the Australians on the final day was 17-year-old Ryan Ruffels, who was in contention through three days but who fell away with a 78 on Sunday.

Ruffels, the former world junior champion, is playing a handful of PGA Tour events on invitation in the hope of earning enough money to secure a playing card for next season.
