After 2 rounds of qualifying three NSW players have qualified through into the top 64 of the matchplay section for the 2013 British Amateur Championship. Brett Drewitt (Long Reef) finished on 142 (-1) to be the best Australian qualifier tied 5th. Callan O Reilly fired a second round 70 to finish on 144 (+1) to be tied 17th, while Jordan Zunic also improved in the second round for a combined total of 145 (+2) to be tied 24th. Unfortunately Ruben Sondjaja (Bonnie Doon) came up one shy of qualifying after firing a solid second round 71 to be on a total of 148 (+5). Dale Brandt Richards (Mona Vale) showed true character by coming back from an opening 81 to shoot 72 in the second round to finish on 153 (+10). Brett Drewitt and Jordan Zunic have both been successful in winning their first matches which will see them progress into the next round (top 32). Brett defeated Niklas Moeller from Denmark 3 & 2, Jordan defeated Pep Angles from Spain 2 up. Callan O Reilly was defeated by Grant Forrest from Craigielaw Golf Club 2 & 1. Brett will play Kasper Estrup from Denmark while Jordan will play Richard James from Aberystwyth Golf Club in the round of 32.
