Tiger claws way towards World Number 1

Tiger Woods&apos victory at the WGC-Cadillac Championship in Miami has put him within one win of returning to the top of the World Rankings – possibly before the year&aposs Major Championships commence at Augusta National in April. With his win on Sunday at Trump Doral Resort and Spa, Woods climbed to within a point of Rory McIlroy on the rankings. Woods has held the World Number 1 ranking for a total of 545 weeks over two periods of his career – a total of more than ten years at the top. His next start will be the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Orlando next week while McIlroy takes a three week break until until the Shell Houston Open. Woods is the defending champion at Bay Hill and a successful defence would see him move ahead of McIlroy into the top position.
