The Lang Lang Senior Amateur has wrapped up for 2019 and it was a tight affair at the top of the women’s scratch stableford section.

It took a countback down to the final hole for Susan Lush from Gardiners Run to take the Championship form Helen Drake of Dorset.

Lush parred the 18th hole whilst Drake had a bogey for the pair to be locked on 23 scratch stableford points.

Metropolitan’s John Kelly took out the Men’s Gross championship after a four over par round of 74.

Kelly won the section by 2 shots over his playing partner for the day Mark Abeyaratne from Peninsula-Kingswood.

The highlight of the day was provided by Tony Harrison from Cardinia Beaconhills who had a hole in one on the 126m fifth hole.

The ace also helped Harrison secure second place in the men’s net division with a score of 68.

Taking out the Net Section was Ignatius Duivenvoorden from Yarram who had a net four under par round of 66.

In the women’s stableford section local knowledge prevailed as Christine Caig from Lang Lang claimed the win.

In her first seniors event Caig scored 37 points to beat Helen Drake by two.
