TIME names Ko in world’s most influential teens

Lydia Ko&aposs enormous 2013 got bigger overnight with the news that TIME magazine has listed her among the 16 Most Infuential Teenagers in the world this year. The 16-year old – who was ranked as high as six on the professional rankings while still an amateur, recently made the decision to move into the professional ranks. She&aposll join the LPGA Tour which has given her a special waiver for membership. She’s the youngest person ever to win a professional golf tour event and the youngest person ever to win an LPGA tour event (and the only amateur to ever win two LPGA Tour events). Ko is a firm fan favourite in Australia after her spectacular performance at the ISPS HANDA Women&aposs Australian Open at Royal Canberra where she opened with a 9-under par 63. She has won the trophy for the leading amateur at the Women&aposs Australian Open for the last three years.
